Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026
- Everything you type is processed on your iPhone. We do not record, store or send your keystrokes.
- Text leaves your device only when you tap the ✨ AI button, and only the text shown in the AI panel is sent, to be checked or translated.
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
This policy explains how WizKey (“the app”, including the WizKey keyboard extension), developed by Wei Zhang (“we”), handles your information.
1. Typing stays on your device
Word suggestions, autocorrect, pinyin input, Korean input and emoji all work on your iPhone. We do not log, store or transmit what you type. To improve pinyin suggestions, the keyboard remembers words and phrases you choose; this learning data is stored only on your device, inside the app, and is deleted when you delete the app.
iOS may give keyboards the names of your contacts so they can be suggested while typing. WizKey uses these names only on your device for suggestions and never sends them anywhere.
2. “Allow Full Access”
iOS asks you to turn on “Allow Full Access” for the keyboard. WizKey needs it for two things only: connecting to the internet when you use the AI features, and reading the settings you choose in the WizKey app (second language, key sound, haptics). We do not use Full Access to collect your typing or any other data. Without Full Access, the keyboard still works for normal typing.
3. AI grammar check and translation
When you tap the ✨ button, the keyboard reads the text you selected, or the text before the cursor in the current text field, and shows it in the AI panel. That text, together with your chosen second language and tone, is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, which runs on Cloudflare, and is then passed to Anthropic’s Claude API to produce the correction or translation.
- We do not store this text or the results on our server, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
- Anthropic processes the text as our service provider under its commercial terms. Under those terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models, and keeps it only for a limited period, as described in Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.
- Like any website or internet service, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver the connection and protect against abuse. We do not use this information to identify you.
- Please avoid using the AI features on passwords, payment card numbers or other highly sensitive information. iOS automatically switches to the system keyboard in password fields.
4. Free trial and subscription
To count your free AI uses, the app stores the date of your first AI use and how many times you used AI today. This information is kept only on your device, in the iOS Keychain, and is not sent to us.
WizKey Pro is purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your name, Apple ID, or payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether you have an active subscription. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
5. Clipboard
The app writes to the clipboard only when you tap “Copy” in the AI panel.
6. What we don’t do
- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, phone number or location.
- We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share your data.
7. Children
WizKey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices
You can stop using the AI features at any time simply by not tapping ✨, turn off “Allow Full Access” in Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → WizKey, or remove the keyboard and delete the app. Deleting the app removes the learning data and settings stored on your device.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
